NGC 6946 Cepheus
Pixel 237
on
8/19/00
Below is a comparison
shot taken with the PixCel 237 CCD imager. This LRGB exposure
is made from short 2 minute guided exposures. Compare this to
the ST-8 image taken 6 weeks earlier below left. A noticeable
gain in going to smaller pixels (from 9 micron down to the 237's
7.4 micron pixels) can be seen. More importantly, seeing conditions
were much better during the image on the right. Both frames are
cropped out of the larger originals. Also, the 237 rgb portions
were obtained unbinned.
